To solve this, a reverse-flow cooling system was introduced. The bonnet covers were redesigned with louvred air intakes, nicknamed \"beehives\", causing air to be drawn in through the rear, pass through the radiator, and expel downwards and outwards.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHowever, the new system initially directed hot air out of the front of the vehicle, which could affect nearby personnel when stationary. A metal cowling and rubber deflector were added to redirect the hot air to the sides.
